Business Need/Purpose of Role
As a member of the divisional Manufacturing Engineering team located at our Port Hope Ontario site this position offers the opportunity to become a key part of our Manufacturing Engineering team. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving our manufacturing processes, systems, and plant infrastructure to significantly improve plant performance, reliability, and safety.
Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities
Design and modification of production systems and equipment and processes
Production system evaluation, specification, and selection
Installation and commissioning or decommissioning of plant systems and facilities
Plant safety, energy conservation, and environmental compliance
Process trouble shooting and optimization
Plant wide Integration and support of product specific manufacturing systems and cells
Research and Develop advanced manufacturing solutions and process innovations
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
3 years minimum experience with exposure to heavy industry manufacturing processes required with Bachelor’s degree
5 years minimum experience required with Associates degree
Industrial Controls design and programming experience a plus
Proficiency in 2D CAD and 3D Modeling systems
Solid project engineering, communication skills with the ability to thrive working with cross functional teams
