Minimum Requirements
Bachelor Degree in related field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or;
3 years post secondary school education, preferably in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or Systems Automation
3 – 5 years of related experience
Strong knowledge in CNC Machining Applications, CNC Programming, Cutting Tool Technologies, Work Holding Products for machining
Practical experience in metal forming, such as die casting, fixture design, and mass flow/pressure decay leak testing
Demonstrated ability to multi-task
Organized and self-motivated professional with experience in leading a cross-functional team
Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
Must be able to relate/communicate well with people at all levels
Blueprint Reading, Basic Measuring Techniques, Working Knowledge with CAD (preferably AutoCAD or SolidWorks)
Knowledge of GD&T, Design for Manufacturing, DOE, and Process FMEA
Must be very familiar with Automotive Manufacturing Process, Synchronous Manufacturing, SPC, APQP, 8D’s, Control Plans, Continuous Improvement Techniques
Must have working knowledge of GPMS, IATF and ISO14001 procedures
Duties & Responsibilities
Report to Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Develop and update schedules to track project status while ensuring equipment installations comply all safety standards and PHSR requirements
Review customer request for quote, customer drawings, and specifications
Develop cycle time study and participate in developing customer quotes with advanced engineering
Identify and implement countermeasures for machining equipment cycle time or reliability problems while working closely with CNC setup and maintenance personnel
Coordinate “run-offs” at suppliers against “acceptance Criteria” as specified in the Technical Specifications for purchase
Follow the build/purchase of machining / automation equipment and fixtures from purchase order to PPAP and into production
Fundamentally responsible for successful launch of manufacturing processes on the shop floor
Lead/participate in the review of process FMEAs with the support of the Plant Area Process and Production Manager/ Supervisors. Administer the Process FMEAs and ensure that they are routinely updated.
Support the Launch Team in the development of process FMEA and prototype builds.
Support in the development of Process Control Plans and Process Flow Charts
Provide engineering support to his/her assigned area of machining process within the Company as required by each department during and after program launch.
Support APQP Team with the creation of technical specifications for the purchase of machining centers, work holding fixtures, and cutting tool.
Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) by analyzing equipment downtime & first time quality / scrap, determining root cause, and recommending countermeasures

- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker. Specific accountabilities for safety include, but are not limited to performing regular workplace inspections, conducting/participating in safety talks, staff meetings, cell meetings, actively participating in accident/incident investigations, training new employees, identifying and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, identify, correct or commend health and safety performance and conducting performance appraisals for workers’ safety performance
Working Conditions
Regularly exposed to work environment consisting of heat and noise.
Be able to work rotating hour, routine hours with occasional overtime.
Works under general supervision on assigned tasks.
On Call Servicing required to support assigned area.
