Job title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job description: Adecco is currently recruiting to a full time permanent Manufacturing Engineer in Edmonton, AB. The Manufacturing Engineer will establish and maintain manufacturing processes to safely produce products that consistently meet codes, specifications, and customer requirements. You are responsible for continuous improvement of the manufacturing process to eliminate waste, improve safety, reduce cost, increase capacity and productivity.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities: * Ensuring a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work environment and building a culture where safety is a first priority
- Ensuring that all control plans, work instructions, and other procedures related to the technical operation of the production lines ensure the safety of employees
- Identifying, understanding the Critical Product Characteristics required to provide customers with a quality product
- Developing and implementing procedures, work instructions and systems to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations
- Supporting experiments or trials for new and existing products to ensure they meet customer’s fitness for use
- Conducting process audits to review Critical Product Characteristics and Critical Process Variables and implementing sustainable corrective actions for process shifts or upsets
- Developing and implementing Operator Control Plans to ensure that all products meet specifications at the lowest cost
- Identifying and eliminating common causes of product and process variation (troubleshooting)Analyzing product and process data, providing feedback and making recommendations to optimize performance coaching, counseling, and training all employees on process control
- Identifying and requesting capital funding for equipment, modifications, etc., Providing support to drive successful implementation of capital projects as required.
- Ability to train and test developing engineering team.
Qualifications: * The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering coupled with a minimum of 5+ years of direct related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Understands customer needs, product specifications and basic cost drivers
- Understands and works with basic principles of engineering
- Understands statistical concepts including trial design, data analysis, control charts, process capability and design of experiments to drive process improvements
- Ability to communicate with and engage employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects at one time
- Lean Certification or evidence of Lean Manufacturing experience
