Manufacturing Engineer
We are recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer for our facility in Arnprior, Ontario.
JOB SUMMARY:
At BWXT NEC, you will work on manufacturing processes and projects supporting the production of CANDU fuel components used in Canada and around the world. You will join a dedicated group of professionals with a track record of excellence in Production, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety who tackle challenges with energy, integrity and diligence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage assigned production processes (including documentation, changes, training, optimization) including diagnosing equipment, process and product weaknesses.
- Respond to production, quality and EHS concerns, participate in cross-functional teams, use problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
- Lead Mechanical design activities including controlling the drawing system for all product and process drawings.
- Manage capital projects as required including implementation, commissioning, qualification and training activities required.
- Perform job safety risk assessments by thoroughly understanding workstation procedures and by conducting employee interviews.
- Perform Hazard Identification and safety inspections in the workplace.
- Initiate changes and support change management.
- Perform audits on production and quality processes for conformity to regulatory and customer requirements.
- Other duties and responsibilities will be reviewed and assigned as required and based on business need and candidate experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University or college degree/diploma in engineering, science, or technology.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with AutoCAD or Inventor.

- Results oriented with a strong technical background and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, understandable by a diverse audience.
- Ability to interpret complex technical concepts and to prepare clear, concise documentation in a style and format appropriate to the intended audience.
- Ability to work independently for long periods when developing solutions, but also ability to work effectively in a small team when required.
