Job title: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job description: SUMMARY: StackTeck Systems Ltd. is currently seeking an individual for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager role. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead the CAM department and will collaborate with the planning, scheduling, manufacturing and engineering teams, to analyze, develop and innovate, improve manufacturing methods and drive innovation throughout the Operation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the CAM Department and work with Sr VP Manufacturing to ensure department runs effectively.
  • Be the technical lead and head problem solving resource for all machining processes utilizing the latest technological tooling processes.
  • Drive the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) within StackTeck. While managing the OEE KPI, identify the percentage of planned production time that is truly productive.
  • Utilizing StackTeck’s advanced equipment range, develop and plan efficient manufacturing methods from initial machining through to finishing.
  • Work with the Manufacturing team to ensure work throughput is improved while achieving maximum machine tool life.
  • Work with the Engineering team in utilizing / developing / customizing the CAD/CAM software to improve the efficiency of CAM programming.
  • Participating in engineering design reviews and design for manufacturing meetings to provide guidance with respect to best manufacturing methods.
  • Communicating with Scheduling, Process Planning, Engineering, the CAM Team and Operations on a regular basis to understand machine selection and loading.
  • Use Lean Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 principles to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability and cost effectiveness.
  • Technical resource for new machining methods, equipment selection, automation projects and advanced machining methods.
  • Thought leader for best practices in the area of Manufacturing Engineering as part of StackTeck’s Digital Transformation initiative.
  • Will participate in the selection and implementation of an ERP software as a representative of the Manufacturing Team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary education – Engineering degree with 3–5 years related ETO machining industry experience
  • P. Eng. License / EIT required
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Firm understanding of working in a 3D CAD CAM environment using Unigraphics / Siemens NX / Teamcenter preferred
  • Ability to provide concise analytical evaluation of manufacturing issues and provide ROI for capital requests.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
