Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Transport and maintain materials, storage containers, and pallets through continuous visual inspections and rounds on the shop floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate forklift and floor scrubber, as well as perform operator inspections on each.
• Clean mop water tank strainer and tank; clean and maintain oil water separators on a routine basis
• Transport, provide, maintain qty, label, inspect all metal working fluids that are associated with operations and processes; follow all disposal and recycling guidelines
• Transfer oil, chemicals, & metal chips between containers.
• Monitor and maintain oil & chemical stock levels on shop floor.
• Empty and return scrap containers in a timely manner.
• Collect, transport, and load pots into centrifuge and start recycling process.
• Operate jib hoist, floor jack, and other lifting devices safely and properly.
• Perform filter changes on HVAC equipment on a scheduled basis
• Perform other maintenance-related duties
• Use required PPE
• Unload and place incoming product into storage unit.
• Load and operate cardboard bailer.
• Maintain safe and organized work areas in accordance to 5S standards.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Understand and follow the Jackson site’s environmental policy and the environmental impacts associated with their work activities.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES

• Must comply with all safety and housekeeping guidelines
• Must maintain a safe and organized work area
• Must pass Stanley Black and Decker Powered Industrial Truck certification

• Must be able to push/pull, repetitively mount/dismount fork lift, and climb
• Must be an effective communicator with all levels of the organization
• Must be able to follow all written and verbal communication
• Must be open and willing to seek all certification and or training in the services field to further their knowledge base for advancement.
• Must be reliable and flexible with hours worked

Must be able to work overtime as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
• 6 months related experience or training
• Previous experience with general material handling equipment is preferred
• Technical aptitude is strongly preferred
