Description:
SK Films is a Toronto based, boutique content provider and an international leader in the worldwide IMAX/Giant Screen film industry. The company develops, produces and distributes 3D and 2D films for IMAX ® and other Giant Screen theatres located in prestigious institutions/Museums and science centers spanning 55 countries. The company’s product line-up includes films for both prestigious institutional and commercial theaters and content for exploitation in other media including television broadcast.
SK is seeking an experienced, dynamic, innovative and creative Communications and Marketing Manager to work with a small team to plan and execute all marketing and communications strategies for all of SK’s content, including the 2021/2022 release of two new 3D films for the IMAX/Giant Screen marketplace, as well as a new season launch of a television series.
The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of planning, developing, execution and evaluation of all marketing and communications initiatives for SK Films. Working closely and reporting to the VP, Sales and Marketing, the role will involve both high-level strategy and local level targeted outreach working directly with our global clients.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of innovative and cost-efficient strategies for marketing and promoting SK’s projects and managing the relationships between SK Films, Exhibitors and Sponsors
- Manage distribution of marketing materials to worldwide theatre network
- Research, recommend and execute new marketing strategies, outlets, partners in relation to targeting audience and industry outreach
- Solicit quotes and work collaboratively with outside contractors
- Develop and Implement Digital Media Strategies as well as manage several websites and other electronic communications and implement strategies to ensure targets are met
- Work collaboratively and efficiently with Public Relation firm/s to promote SK library of films
- Organize and execute special events at various markets and conferences globally
- Support and ideally initiate fundraising campaigns for new, high profile films
Requirements:
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree with major course work in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or the equivalent experience.
- Experience with website content management, social media, and digital marketing.
- Knowledge of and experience implementing strategic communications and marketing concepts.
- Excellent written, communication and copy editing skills and the ability to manage and develop relationships
- A creative and strategic thinker, with problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively and pro-actively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A familiarity with the documentary and/or IMAX/Giant Screen world is an asset but not a requirement
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power point and Dropbox
- Experience with Photoshop would be a plus but not necessary
- Working knowledge of website design a plus but not necessary
- Ability to travel internationally

Expected salary: $50000 – 60000 per year
