Marketing Executive, Michael Joseph

Job Overview

Job title: Marketing Executive, Michael Joseph

Job description: Do you love reading and talking about popular books?

Would you like to market some of the world’s bestselling authors and brands?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Executive to create audience-focused campaigns for Penguin Michael Joseph.

Penguin Michael Joseph publishes a diverse range of commercial books and authors – including, Marian Keyes, Liane Moriarty, Nadiya Hussain, Jamie Oliver, JoJo Moyes and Dawn French. You might be working on a celebrity memoir one day, and a gripping crime mystery the next.

From day to day, you’ll be liaising with editors, authors, and agents – getting to know their stories better than anyone. You’ll then plan how best to launch their books into the bestseller lists, by producing eye-catching promotional activity that drives intrigue and word of mouth on- and off-line.

Combining your creativity with digital awareness, you’ll manage campaigns across a range of media, planning, briefing and delivering content as well as reacting nimbly to shifts in the market.

Using your expert knowledge of a book or author, you’ll help our sales team bring retailers on board, so they champion the book from the word go. You’ll also talk to external partners, exploring opportunities to promote our stories together.

You’ll bring bags of enthusiasm and ideas to each campaign, using your initiative to make the most of your budget, however great or small.

It goes without saying you’ll have a passion for books, but you certainly don’t need to have worked in publishing before.

You’ll also have a knack for social media, not just understanding how it works, but what makes people sit up, listen and engage.

Whoever you are, we want someone ready for an exciting new challenge.

Please apply with your CV and Cover Letter by midnight on Sunday 24th October. Interviews will be held virtually from November.

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
