We are seeking for a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to support our friendly and fast-paced team in a successful new product launch. We are looking for an individual with strong problem-solving skills, ability to critically evaluate designs for best outcomes towards progress and strong attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for individuals that have a great communication style, enjoys interacting across departments and pursue making a difference being innovative.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Support plate and sealing development activities as we launch our latest stack design and develop our assembly processes, including:
- Supporting trials and fine tuning of sealing and assembly processes
- Equipment setup and refinement of operating parameters
- Material trials and development of process controls
- Operator training
- Measurements, capability studies
- Characterization and Validation (leak testing, ASTs, etc.)
- Liaise with operations, testing and purchasing.
- Perform prototype stack builds, provide support for testing and analysis
- Develop tools and hardware for various component tests
Position Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3D CAD design (Solidworks preferred)
- Hands-on prototype builds and testing experience; and proven ability to work safely and effectively.
- Understanding of design verification and validation, ability to incorporate learnings in future designs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Considered an asset:
- Fuel cell experience
- Solidworks
- Product development skills: DFMEA, DFMA, tolerance analysis, GD&T
- Application of structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-whys)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing methods (injection moulding, general machining, etc.)
- Knowledge of seal design and materials
- Mechatronics experience
