Position Summary
We are looking for a patient focused team player to fill a casual opportunity that we have within our team here in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.
The Registered Nurse – NICU practices in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client-centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
The Royal Inland Hospital NICU supports the care of sick neonates from across Interior Health, as one of the two most acute tertiary centers outside of the lower mainland. Utilizing and influencing the latest evidenced based care of neonates, the NICU is located in the heart of the Interior in Kamloops BC and serves a population of neonates and their families 30 weeks and over, while stabilizing other acutely ill infants and accessing BC Women’s and Children’s Hospital as the primary referral site as needed.
Built with family centered care and cutting edge neonatal critical care design concepts in mind, the NICU will be relocating into a brand new unit in the summer of 2021.
NRP is required as well as advanced nursing specialty certification in neonatal acute care, or equivalent training/experience.
Shifts are 12 hours. Shift times are 07:30-19:30, and 19:30-07:30.
This is a relief full time position until November 2, 2022 or return of the incumbent.

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Advanced preparation in Neonatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (within 2 years)
Current CPR (within 3 years)
