Located at BRP’s centre of expertise and tasked with optimizing our global costs and operations, the logistics strategy team defines the inbound logistics standards and future strategies for our assembly plants. The department is also in charge of leading logistics-related “early gates” product development activities and of supporting our manufacturing sites’ various teams (planning, transportation, handling, logistics engineering, etc.) on multiple tactical and strategic aspects.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM? * To work closely with different multidisciplinary teams to determine the optimal strategies for designing, packaging and delivering production parts
- To represent the vehicle assembly site in the “early gates” initial phases of product development in relation to logistics and the management of inbound materials
- To act as a strategic collaborator by working to optimize the global supply chain for vehicle manufacturing and assembly parts
- To tackle a wide range of stimulating challenges with a position key to BRP’s processing, innovation and continuous improvement activities
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with vehicle engineering teams, the Purchasing group and other teams involved in product development to propose better logistics strategies for production
- Carry out parts design reviews using a modelling tool to identify opportunities for modifications that can optimize or confirm parts packaging and transportation
- Conduct analyses to optimize costs in parts transportation, packaging, inventory management, workforce logistics and storage capacity
- Coordinate and track different logistics deliverables required under the New Product Development process for the initial development phases of a business plan
- Work, in a consulting capacity, with the Purchasing group to identify high-value opportunities during the supplier selection process
- Prepare documentation needed to obtain project budget requirements, as well as identifying, analyzing and following up with the requirements
- Determine packaging strategies, improve parts container standards and ensure compliance with them
- Coordinate the tracking of key performance indicators, relay the results and make the corrections needed to meet project goals
- Monitor technological and strategic developments by staying abreast of industry best practices
- Build and maintain a network of external partners to introduce new concepts at BRP
- Promote a spirit of continuous improvement to support our Lean Enterprise mission
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations/logistics management or other relevant field
- A minimum of three years of relevant and substantial experience (product development, supply chain management, manufacturing operations)
- Excellent knowledge of Excel (used for data processing)
- Spoken and written bilingualism (English and French), advanced level (4/5)
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and/or logistics (storage, transportation, etc.)
- Knowledge of modelling software (CATIA, SOLIDWORKS) an asset
- Knowledge of SAP (WM, MM, PP) an asset
