Position Summary
Interior Health is seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner (NP). This exciting full time opportunity will join the Kelowna General Hospital’s Surgical Patient Optimization Program supporting the Pres-surgical Screening clinic in Kelowna at Capri Center and at Kelowna General Hospital.

Working in a team environment with a focus on complex patients awaiting elective surgery, the NP is responsible for the assessment of selected patients in the pre surgical service both in person /virtual. The NP performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement; develops a plan of care to optimize each patient’s health; and manages each patients potential surgical risks. The NP will work collaboratively with the clinic RN, physiotherapists, community GPs, surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Current registration and exam-qualified as a Nurse Practitioner with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Successful completion of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
• Recent, relevant clinical nursing experience
• Valid Driver’s License
