Nasittuq is currently bidding on the contract for the Operation & Maintenance of the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.
This job posting is being advertised in advance of award of a contract. Employment is contingent upon Nasittuq being awarded the contract.

Responsibilities:
The Logistics Support Site (LSS) Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all Nasittuq operational and maintenance activities/projects within their respective zone.
- Plan, schedule, prioritize and direct all Zone activities in liaison with other Nasittuq departmental managers.
- Supervise LSS/Long Range Radar (LRR) staff ensuring site activities/logistics are performed in a timely/safe manner.
- Ensure that all site personnel are given all necessary training, indoctrination, and site briefings.
- Appoint personnel for duties such as safety representatives and fire brigade members
- Be familiar and ensure compliance of personnel (including contractors and visitors) to all safety plans, including plans specific to project activities, work permits and ‘stop work’ order and conducting site safety meetings and daily “toolbox” safety meeting for all staff on site.
- Ensure reports and returns are completed and record events in the daily logbook.
- Visit sites and conduct inspections of buildings and structures for damage or problems and report any observations.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a trade or technical field.
- Five (5) years collective experience directly related to one or more requirements of their position.
- Demonstrated management experience within their trade or technical field.
- Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturally.
- Computer literate in MS applications, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates must be Canadian citizens, be eligible and maintain Level (II) SECRET security clearance.
