Job description: The Parks Division is seeking a permanent full time Parks Worker II to perform a variety of manual tasks in the construction and maintenance of park areas. The Parks Worker II will perform a variety of carpentry and landscape construction tasks in the installation and structural maintenance of playgrounds, buildings, bridges, stairs, signs, furniture, structures, parking lots, landscape areas, drainage, trails, and other parks related infrastructure.

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; three or more accredited courses in Landscape Construction, Carpentry or related field from a recognized post-secondary institution; one year of previous experience in the works of a Parks Division and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence. Candidates with an equivalent combination or education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. depending on the season.

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of 30.33 per hour and an excellent benefits package.
