My client, a Canadian owned and operated food manufacturer and distributor, is looking for a Plant Manager – Food Manufacturing to join their team in Vancouver. The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the strategic operations of production initiatives in the plant as well as assisting the receiving and production departments to run in a smooth and efficient manner. The ideal candidate for this position will be a driven leader with the ability to effectively coach, plan, and mentor.

What the Plant Manager – Food Manufacturing does:
- Administer the day to day activities of plant personnel
- Coordinate operations to meet sales and planning objectives
- Recommend operational improvements, processes, and facilitation of cost reduction initiatives
- Encourage professional development of employees
- Develop and maintain adherence of health and safety requirements
- Ensure optimal utilization of all analytical tools
- Collaborate and develop effective relationships with internal departments to support the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, strategies, plans, objectives, and new product development
- Manage and promote a positive working environment for employees
What the successful candidate will bring:
- 5-10 years of experience in a plant management role
- Previous leadership experience in the food manufacturing industry is essential
- Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
- Lean implementation experience with proven results
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
