My client, a leading Canadian food manufacturer in Vancouver, is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to staff while implementing innovative process improvement procedures to achieve daily productivity targets. The ideal candidate for this role will be a natural leader from the food industry, who leads by example with good communication and conflict resolution abilities. The successful candidate will be required to rotate between day and evening shifts.

What the Production Supervisor does:

  • Provides leadership to lead hands, operators, and other staff members
  • Implements continuous process improvement initiatives to achieve daily productivity targets
  • Oversees schedules and ensures work is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensures QA documentation is completed accurately
  • Reports on KPI’ s and ensures inventory accuracy in production
  • Coordinates delivery of production supplies into production area from warehouse
  • Oversees employee attendance and performance
  • Identifies safety hazards, completes incident investigations, and presents proposals for corrective and preventative measures

What is expected of you:

  • 3+ years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a food-manufacturing environment (preferably unionized); knowledge of GMP
  • Occupational Health and Safety training
  • Six Sigma or Lead Manufacturing training is an asset
  • Proficient in various Microsoft Office application and ERP systems
  • Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be based in the Lower Mainland, no relocation
  • Flexibility to work day and evening shifts is a MUST
