Sustainalytics’ newly formed Project Management Office is hiring a project manager to support a number of strategic company-wide projects. The candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure that best practices are understood and ensure a consistent approach to project management. The project manager will join a strategically important team, supporting a vibrant community of project managers in growing the professionalization of our project management approach within the Project Management Office (PMO).

Job Responsibilities

Working in the newly formed Project Management Office, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating and coordinating the efforts of senior leadership toward the establishment of the project portfolio definition, its structure and processes, from demand management and strategic alignment of projects and programs to portfolio categories and criteria, through evaluation, selection and prioritization; to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved results.
  • Ensuring the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the projects and programs in the portfolio and resolve or escalate conflicts.
  • Leading reviews of any significant initiatives, projects or programs that are challenged and provide recommendations as to whether it should continue, be significantly changed, placed on hold or discontinued.
  • Working with project teams to manage/oversee the full range of the project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, close) for projects covering a portfolio of projects which focus on the business needs of a specific business line(s) or strategy.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate ESG industry knowledge of common services concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, deliverables and objectives.
  • Managing diverse projects and project teams simultaneously
  • Reporting on progress to the project sponsor(s), PMO management, proactively identifying constraints and escalating problems.
  • Ensuring that a quality management plan is in place for relevant projects in collaboration with the Process Excellence team.
  • After projects are complete, gathering and documenting all project results and debriefing to the appropriate parties (including management)

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related discipline (business, economics, communication, information technology or data management) or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience;
  • At least 7+ years of experience managing projects, preferably in a digital / IT environment;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent required
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred;
  • Excellent execution skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including in different time zones;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing “upward” among senior leadership;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently;
  • Experience with multiple project management software tools is an asset;
  • Experience working with AGILE and Waterfall methodologies an asset;
