Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Provincial Medical Administration Office (“PMAO”) is responsible for the administrative processes related to medical staff recruitment, credentialing, contracting and remuneration. PMAO also plays an integral role in responding and providing support to its various stakeholders with respect to health human resource (HHR) issues that may arise in relation to medical staff contracts and agreements.

The Provincial Medical Administration Office Analyst provides support to health leadership within Shared Health, most directly to the Provincial Medical Staff Contract Specialist, to prepare and administer contracts for the provision of medical services in alignment with the provincial clinical and preventive services plan, the corresponding provincial health human resources plan, approved medical remuneration budgets, and applicable agreements between Shared Health and/or other service delivery organizations that it represents, and medical staff, contractors and/or their bargaining agents.

Experience

  • Preferred candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a legal, health care or business setting.

Experience developing and interpreting contracts and other business documents, with a preference for experience working with medical service, funding and/or compensation contracts and/or agreements.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • University degree or minimum of three (3) years of post-secondary education in law, business, health administration or in a related discipline.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Exceptional written/oral communication and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Theoretical and/or working knowledge of current health care provider issues and payment methodologies a definite asset.
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, and carry out assigned tasks and interact with all levels within a team-based organization.

Proven process development skills. * Excellent computer skills; SAP experience is a definite asset.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel and Access.
