Position Summary
We are seeking experienced community mental health nurses to join our team on the Supervised Consumption Site in Kamloops.
Ideal candidates will have extensive experience and understanding of supervised consumption services, knowledge of harm reduction principals and ability to work with clients with complex mental health and substance use disorders. Previous experience with the marginalized, homeless population would be an asset.
The successful candidate will cover several teams in Mental Health and Substance Use including Connections, Assertive Community Treatment Team and the Supervised Consumption site. If the need arises, this nurse will also cover other teams at MHSU. This position will work out of an RV parked outside of Crossroads with a social worker.
The Registered Nurse functions as a member of the larger Community Integrated Health Services (CIHS) or Tertiary Mental Health Services care team and as a member of a designated multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to ensure that persons with serious severe and persistent mental health problems, and/or problematic substance use and/or development disability issues who may or may not be in crisis have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services.
Shifts of work are days/evenings; 08:30 to 20:30, 08:30 to 16:30, 10:00 to 18:00, 07:00 to 18:13, 12:47 to 00:00

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
Two years’ recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (such as Counselling & Treatment Services; Treatment, Support & Recovery Services; Crisis Response; Seniors MHSU Services; Substance Use; Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS), etc.)
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Current valid B.C. driver’s license.
