Job description: Fortune Terrace Chinese Cuisine has taken the lead in Cantonese cuisine in Vancouver. We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager (NOC 0631) to join us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of a restaurant
- Take an active role in service during all operating hours;
- Schedule, manage, and motivate staff to provide services in excellent quality;
- Track inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, forecast needs, and oversee ordering as necessary;
- Recruit and train new members of staff;
- Set targets and incentives to increase turnover and profitability of restaurant;
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures.
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations;
- Communicate with customers to build relationship and address complaints;
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
- Recommend and implement policies that will foster the restaurant’s future growth.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is required.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the restaurant service or related area, experience in Chinese cuisine an asset;
- Excellent communication skills to manage staff and maintain relationship with customers as well as food suppliers;
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Flexible schedule
Job type: full-time, permanent
Salary $25/hourly 40hrs/week
