Paul Davis Ottawa is currently searching for a Project Manager/Sales Associate for our location.

Two basic elements to keep in mind as you consider the role are summarized as follows:

1. As a Sales Associate, you will be required to attend every loss site after it has been reported to us by an insurance company or property owner and present the Paul Davis services in such a way that the property owner agrees to commit to using our services. To be successful, it is imperative that your first impression establishes the integrity of what we promise – which is summarized in our vision as: “providing extraordinary care while serving people in their time of need.” Securing the majority of these opportunities is critical to your success.

2. As a Project Manager, you will be required to oversee each project in its entirety by monitoring the performance of multiple teams engaged in the project delivery and managing their deliverables to ensure that the project is completed within a pre-established life-cycle. The 4 teams under your direction have been assigned specific performance KPIs to ensure they deliver their piece within specified time frames. Your job is to make sure they deliver according to your required timeline: The 4 functions are described below:

a. Scoping Function: part of the Estimating Function but responsible for scoping the magnitude of the loss to be used to build an estimate that identifies the work to be done to return the property back to its pre-loss condition.

b. Mitigation/Abatement/Demolition Function: responsible for dealing with the emergency and preparing the loss site so that repairs can be initiated.

c. Estimating Function: part of the Scoping Function but responsible for creating an estimate from the scope document that includes line items and prices for each element identified as work that needs to be performed.

d. Repairs/Construction Function: responsible for setting the schedule and performing all the work identified in the written estimate.

Applicant Requirements/General Information

This position includes field inspections, securing the majority of business opportunities, overseeing multiple projects of varying sizes, and managing each project life-cycle. At times it may also be necessary to participate in A/R collections. Previous construction management and/or insurance restoration experience a huge plus. College degree preferred.

Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Professionally represent the Paul Davis principles of honesty and integrity.
  • Maintain constant communication with the property owner and insurance representatives and sub-trades as appropriate.
  • Inspect all assigned projects for progress and work excellence. Secure and record all required documents such as work authorizations, change orders, completion certificates, etc.
  • Seek relationships with insurance professionals, tradespeople, consumers, and others to help acquire more work for you and the company.
  • Maintain professionalism with project conditions: (i.e.: workmanship, homeowner relationships, safety, cleanliness, and tradespeople conduct).
  • Interface with other Paul Davis functional teams regarding project progress, status, schedules, and completion.
  • Professionally handle concerns or complaints from all stakeholders.
  • Be willing to participate in additional professional training and/or certification programs.

Compensation: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
