Job title: Sales Manager
Job description: Canadian Crane is a leading manufacturer of quality overhead cranes with 2 manufacturing facilities, servicing Canada, the US and Mexico. Each crane system is custom designed, built and installed for a specific industrial application.
Position:
The Sales Manager will lead Canadian Crane’s sales efforts and strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Working directly with the President, Engineering and Project Fulfillment teams to:
- Identify and reach decision makers among targeted customers by seeking out and determining key players in prospective accounts
- Gather technical and commercial requirements from the customer during the “discovery” period to enable Canadian Crane’s team to draft and submit a focused proposal
- Visit sites and facilitate meetings to ensure Canadian Crane has an up-to-date and accurate understanding of the various requirements of each project
- Regular follow ups to nurture the relationship and gain an effective understanding of the next step(s) forward until the order is secured
- Successfully negotiate and close sales
- Communicate and coordinate with our internal teams, during Pre-Sale and Post-Sale periods to ensure continuity and teamwork
- Maintain CRM database with all customer applicable correspondence, interaction, including new contacts, future scheduled follow ups (action items), etc.
- Maintain Project Files (electronically and paper copied) including proposals, drawings, and other relevant documents, for ease of access and reference for the duration of the “discovery” period up to Post-Sales hand off to our Project Fulfillment team
- Travel (approx. 25%) is an aspect of this position and for the most part is within Ontario. On occasion travel outside of Ontario may be required and it is necessary to have or be able to obtain a valid passport
- Build and manage an internal team of Sales Specialists to help increase Canadian Crane’s market-share
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of University (preferably in a technical field)
- Strong understanding of custom industrial machinery, including mechanical, structural and electrical systems
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings (General Arrangement, architectural, structural etc)
- 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience in custom manufacturing
- Strong computer skills including CRM (ACT! preferred) and MS Office programs
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and bondable

- Team work is a cornerstone of our success, and unless there are temporary government mandates, this position is not intended to be remote
Job Type:
- Full time, Permanent
Salary and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $100,000 per year
- Quarterly Bonuses based on meeting sales and performance targets
