About the Position
The Senior Analyst, Finance & Operations (SFA) will be part of the Brookfield Management Group, focusing on Finance and Operations for the Private Funds Business. The SFA will support and improve the operations of the Private Funds Business across all related business groups within BAM: private equity, infrastructure/renewable power, and real estate. While reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance & Operations, the SFA will be multi-faceted and gain exposure by working with leadership and various teams across the broader organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise and provide strategic guidance on Private Fund Finance and Operations across all the business groups
- Develop subject matter expertise and coordinate /facilitate with the management of key financial and operational areas including investor reporting, valuations, performance measurement, fund administration
- Develop fee analysis for new fund product launches, a leading strategic initiative at Brookfield
- Develop and oversee internal management reporting
- Monitor industry and regulatory hot topics, trends, and best practices, and develop, implement or update Brookfield policies and/or protocols as needed
- Assess current state and propose strategic initiatives to achieve enhanced investor experiences, drive operational change, and streamline processes to improve internal efficiency
- Ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operational results, supporting the team with any special projects
Qualifications & Requirements:
- University degree in Business or Finance
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
- Minimum of 3 years of financial services‐related experience, asset management experience is preferred
- Strong Excel skills, can perform pivot tables, v-lookups with large amounts of data
- Exposure to private funds and knowledge of the investment management industry
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team player with positive attitude and pro-active approach to work
- Strong communication skills, can work effectively with all levels and departments within a complex organization
- Strategic thinker that can think outside the box, focused on efficiency and improving existing processes
- Ability to handle a large volume of work with tight deadlines
