Position Title: Senior Business Analyst – Finance Projects

Team and Location: Corporate Finance – Calgary, AB

Position Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst, Finance Projects operates as a leader in the support, design, implementation and maintenance of Corporate Finance processes and procedures with the corporate ERP system (JD Edwards) and additional financial reporting applications and tools such as the corporate financial consolidation software (OneStream).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Main contact for the resolution of complex support issues related to JDE Finance and OneStream, and the integrations related to these systems
  • Play a key role in the definition of month-end procedures and policies, specially in any month-end steps performed in JDE Finance and OneStream
  • Passionate about financial master data maintenance (companies/entities, cost centres, GL accounts, and multiple reporting dimensions) and its impacts on support and month-end
  • Understand Parkland’s top annual priorities and represent Corporate Finance on specific projects. Work throughout the year in order to ensure that: projects have proper requirements documented, project plans are detailed with appropriate tasks, team members are held accountable for completion of assigned tasks, proper documentation is maintained, and the projects are completed on time
  • Responsible for understanding business process for new business acquisitions; implementing Parkland processes in new acquisitions, and determining key drivers for new process creation
  • Develop SME’s (from process and integrations) through documentation and training sessions to ensure they comprehend new Parkland processes and can support their respective business post go-live
  • Perform functional tests in JDE to ensure recommended solutions produce expected outcomes from both a process and financial perspective
  • Facilitate and guide business owners and SME’s through functional and day-in-the-life testing for both process and financial expectations
  • Working with IT, consulting firms and the corporate teams to support enhancement requests and troubleshooting

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or IT
  • Accounting designation (CPA) is highly encouraged
  • Extensive knowledge of JDE Finance modules and JDE integrations with other systems is required especially following modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets
  • Knowledge of consolidation systems (OneStream) is an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of Business processes
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and excellent analytical skills and takes initiatives to solve problems
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with Excel and MS Visio
  • Above average communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge in areas of Fuel and Non-Fuel Transaction Processing and Reporting
  • Experience in retail, commercial or supply chain operations considered an asset
  • Knowledge of other systems (i.e. PDI, Concur) or other JDE modules (Sales, Procurement, Inventory) is an asset
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
