Department Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst, Planning & Analysis, reports to the GI Finance Manager. The incumbent will work collaboratively with business partners and will help efficiently produce the General Insurance management financial annual plan, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks, as well as the annual Stress testing and Medium-Term outlook. The person in this position could also be involved in the monthly reporting activities for General Insurance.
The role requires excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to select, interpret and present financial results with succinct and impactful messages.
Specific tasks include:
- Help coordinating the preparation of the monthly outlook, quarterly forecast, annual financial plan process and refresh of the Medium-Term Outlook
- Prepare presentations on annual financial plan, MTO and forecasts that effectively communicate the overall GI story to management in a concise manner supported by business drivers and detailed analysis as required by finance executives in their presentations of results to the Bank
- Act as a finance representative supporting our business partners to provide advice, decision support and business analysis related to the processes under his or her responsibility
- Provide ad hoc analysis to all business and operational areas as it relates to interpretation and understanding of financial results and projections
- Work closely with all Finance groups to ensure the accuracy of financial information.
- Work closely with business partners to improve the forecasting and planning process.
- Continuously improve processes and documentation while ensuring compliance to internal policies and best practices.
- The candidate will also provide coaching and support to his team colleagues.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Professional designation CPA CMA or CPA CA an asset, with at least of 7 to 10 years of experience
- Solid communication skills – both oral and written.

Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint Excel, and Word.
- Experience with Hyperion SmartView, and Oracle Business Intelligence is preferable.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Candidate needs to be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day is different!
