What’s it like working as a Senior Information Security Specialist – Security Information and Event Management at Questrade?

Your contribution delivering sustainable and measurable results in the following areas will be very important:

Security Program Management – You will be transforming our information security programs, helping to effectively balance people, processes and technology — enabling better security and risk decisions, and a reduction in the cost of managing overall security risk.

Identifying and responding to cyber threats – Our reputation and brand are on the line, and we’ll not compromise. Our company’s infrastructure and data need to be safeguarded before something happens and you will be primarily involved in Security information and event management including owning relationships with SEIM/SOC managed service providers, testing and fine-tuning SIEM use cases, triaging and investigating alerts, incident responses, metrics and reporting.

You’ll be well-versed in all aspects of cyber security with focus on security logging and monitoring, events investigations and incident response.

You’ll review IR plan and procedures, IR playbooks, prepare and facilitate table top exercises.

You’ll also execute incident / breach scenario analysis and preparation, IR. BCP & DR testing

So are YOU our next Senior Information Security Specialist? You are if you have…

• 7+ years IT security or information security experience with a proven ability to engage with Senior Management and auditors
• Knowledge of technical infrastructure, networks, databases and systems in relation to IT Security and IT Risk.
• Must possess capabilities in the following: security logging and monitoring, SIEM solutions, security events investigations and incident response.
• Previous experience in implementing SIEM/SOC, Incident/Breach scenario analysis & preparation, IR, BCP & DRP testing, table top exercises, Threat collection, Analysis & Management and Situational Awareness.
• Experience with the security logging and monitoring in the cloud.
