About this team:

We are the Product Analytics & Data Science team (PADS) – a group of Data Scientist, Analysts, and data enthusiests. Our work covers a broad area; we research & develop ML/AI models, build visualizations & dashboards, create the tools & systems that teams use to answer questions with data, and so much more. Our focus is the Product area of the business, and everything that product touches – which covers a lot of territory. We are a growing team, and we prioritize collaboration & continual learning.

A day in the life:

The Senior Manager, Data Science is first and foremost a people leader, and your key priority is to grow the impact & development of the members of your team. You lead with empathy, and work to understand & support the individual needs of each team member. You are a strategic powerhouse, and will collaborate with technical & functional leaders across the business to manage long-range priorities, and are responsible for establishing & delivering the Data Science roadmap. You are excellent at understanding how business goals translate into technical requirements, and can bring focus & alignment to the deliverables for the team. You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get into the code with your team, and they are able to learn from your experience. You are equally comfortable as a strategist, and can communicate complex technical problems to business partners. You love working with data, and are passionate about shaping the way organizations use data to make impactful decisions.

Qualifications:

· 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or another related technical field.

· 5+ years of leadership experience, with 3+ years having directly managed individual contributors.

· The ability to lead direct reports with empathy, while showing care for their career development and professional interests, and actively working to acknowledge & eliminate biases.

· Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or related quantitative field; advanced degree preferred (Masters, PhD).

· Proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages; familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and distributed computing (Hive, Hadoop); familiarity with data science best practices in an enterprise environment.
