Purpose
Contributes to the success of Automotive Finance Sales Team by executing on training strategies through the
creation and delivery of training workshops, webinars, etc. Works closely with Automotive Finance E.O. teams and
other partners to develop, deliver and sustain & manage sales training sessions to address learning gaps of
Automotive Finance Bankers. Acts as a subject matter expert to create and/or provide guidance and feedback on
training resources and content.
Accountabilities
- Manage sales education: Manage the enhancements and the deployment and reporting on the retail/commercial
sales on boarding program and sales curriculum for strategic alignment within Scotia Academy inclusive of sales
representative and leader coaching.
- Facilitates ongoing training (workshops, ad hoc requirements, etc.) nationally which will include new and
existing training.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to develop and maintain training content
inclusive of monthly educational webinars.
- Collaborates with HR and Learning teams to create high-impact training evaluations, conduct
analytics on participant feedback and refine training/facilitation as appropriate
- Creates and maintains sustainment training/activities to ensure transfer of skills on the job
- Works with various Partners, the incumbent will require a strong knowledge of various retail and
commercial credit and compliance topics and the ability to take complex situations and break them down
to straight forward components which can be rolled out Nationally and supported regionally
- Collaborates with various EO members to identify and recommend effective methods to communicate
process changes or amendments to Automotive Finance nationally.
- Leads coordination with other SME’s to create/deliver training
- Continually increases the effectiveness of facilitation skill sets to ensure optimal delivery of
training
- Leadership: Provide insights on programs/policy/process changes with respect to communication, job aids and
training to ensure understanding and adoption in the field
- Creates new tools, resources and learning sessions to build skill sets at all sales levels within
Automotive Finance (i.e. foundational credit skills, complex credit skills, specialized credit skills, etc.)
- Manage Development, implementation, tracking for the Women in Auto Curriculum, Collaborating
with the Sr. Manager Sales Marketing & Communication with the program enhancements.
- Interdepartmental Partnership: Collaborate with Operations & Partner Manufacturing team for the
development of training material for new program pilots, processes and/or system training and lead the
implementation of such programs.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and
decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy,
adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational
risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities
under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework,
AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Job requirements
- Subject Matter Expert – Retail, Credit, Compliance, AML and associated policies/processes
- 5+ years relevant banking experience, preferably Commercial Banking experience or equivalent
- 5+ years relevant sales & sales leadership facilitation experience
- 2+ years relevant training design
- SF.com knowledge
- Business degree (post graduate degree preferable) or equivalent experience
- High level of competency with Microsoft software, MS Teams, SF.com
- Preferably bilingual (French/English)
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Moderate travel
domestically to conduct training sessions/workshops (usually can be planned in advance)
