Position Description:
Reporting to the Director of Business & Solution Architecture, the incumbent will lead a DevOps team that develops new applications in addition to supporting them. As a team lead, Senior Manager must be curious and lead with confidence in order to create innovative solutions with the help of a multidisciplinary team made up of software developers, architects, business analysts and technical analysts. The role requires involvement in all software lifecycle phases from the inception to support including retirement of legacy applications.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Establish and maintain technical vision, strategy and roadmap for our applications.
  • Develop and support a DevOps team of professionals including contractors.
  • Assess cost, resourcing and system impacts related to projects.
  • Deliver solutions that meet functional and non-functional (security, performance, reliability, usability, etc.) requirements.
  • Manage budget and team capacity.
  • Ensure operational support and stability of services and applications.
  • Contribute to seizing opportunities as part of long term planning to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead executive briefings to ensure alignment on program.
  • Review and recognize roadmaps beyond area of accountabilities in order to ensure interlock with other domains.
  • Research best practices; keep abreast of internal and external capabilities and products in order to devise implementation plans to deliver optimal solution.

Skills/ Competencies:

  • Undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience preferably Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience delivering scalable enterprise systems in computer and networking technologies preferably in a telecommunication environment.
  • Hands-on experience as a Solution Architect with excellent understanding of microservices, containerization and virtualization principals.
  • 2 years of experience in a team leader role with successful experience managing DevOps team.
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Development and related technologies (API development, Java, Python, .Net Core, REST, SOAP, JS, HTML, JQuery, JSON, ELK, T-SQL, PL/SQL)
  • Ability to prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks, directly or indirectly related to deliverables, in a fast-paced atmosphere with changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership with ability to inspire, coach, lead and build multidisciplinary team with a common vision focus on improving customer experience.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, ability to deal with ambiguity and delivery focus are all critical assets.
  • Team oriented who is able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to build bridges with technical & non-technical teams and influence others to move toward consensus.
  • Experience in Agile environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of data networking technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, subnets, routing, switches and firewalls is desirable.
  • Knowledge of architecture framework like eTOM and/or TOGAF is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is an asset.
  • Excellent communications skills (written, oral) and the ability to engage appropriately at all levels of the organization is required.

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
