My client, a clean-tech/renewable energy company experiencing rapid growth, is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. They are driven to make renewable energy a reliable, attainable option. You will be responsible for improving activities of multiple manufacturing facilities, while acting as the liaison between the engineering team and the operations team to ensure products are manufactured according to design specifications. The ideal candidate for this position will be a strong leader with the ability to influence without authority and bring people together to achieve company goals and objectives. Experience dealing with multiple facilities is a must.

What the Senior Manufacturing Engineer does:

  • Improves the day to day activities of the manufacturing process
  • Implements controls to ensure engineering concepts and drawings are converted to workable build processes
  • Conducts design and specification reviews and applies manufacturing principles to determine product improvements
  • Provides technical support and responds to mechanical and electrical design questions
  • Develops method statements and risk assessments according to health and safety requirements
  • Improves all production processes using LEAN methodologies
  • Determines the tools and fixtures required to manufacture and assemble products according to specifications and tolerances
  • Trains production staff on the necessary skills required to assemble products
  • Manages facilities capital projects and ensures they are completed on time and within budget

What is expected of you:

  • Manufacturing Engineering experience dealing with suppliers globally (China an asset) is a must.
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Mechanical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing and assembly of mechanical and electrical products in prototype, pre-series, and series production phases (minimum 8 years)
  • Experience producing supporting documentation, procedures, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing management processes including BOM, ERP, and resource and capacity planning
  • Proven track record in process and design improvement in complex projects
  • Excellent natural leadership skills with the ability to increase efficiencies and capacity
  • Ability to influence without authority and bring people together to achieve one common goal
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
