Purpose:

We are looking to hire a senior pipeline project/engineering manager between 15 to 25 years’ experience to apply their skills on challenging and diverse pipeline projects at our Calgary location. Become part of our innovative team while living in one of the greatest cities in Canada.

Candidate will be expected to lead mainline pipeline design and construction projects, lead teams in engineering design and have a strong technical knowledge background in pipeline engineering. Role may be a combination of both project management and engineering management.

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with hydrogen and carbon dioxide pipeline design and project execution background

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the overall leadership, integration, coordination and execution of projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Development of the scope of work for the project, including the project schedule, budget and an execution plan that is required for the successful execution of a project
  • Technical coordination of the various engineering disciplines, especially those unique pipeline specialty services, including routing, regulatory, and materials
  • Identification and management of project trends and changes
  • Project Reporting
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Contribute to cost estimates in small to large sized projects
  • Manage and lead pipeline engineering activities on a project
  • Provide overall technical guidance to engineering and project teams
  • Develop proposals for new pipeline projects
  • Assist in planning and implementing safety, loss control and environmental programs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

Qualifications

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work individually and in a team environment. They will possess excellent verbal/written communication and time management skills. The successful candidate will have:

  • Experienced leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure smooth coordination between Company Management, customers and various disciplines assisting on the project
  • Solid understanding of the pipeline business, project engineering and execution fundamentals
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of CSA Z662
  • Preference for work experience in EPC engineering environment or with a pipeline owner/operator
  • Preference for experience in the Oil and Gas industry

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in a Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering program (or masters in Pipeline)
  • Eligibility or registration as an Engineer in a western Canadian engineering regulatory body (APEGA, EGBC, etc)
