About the role

We are currently looking for a Senior Security Advisor to join our team in Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver who will play an essential role in supporting our growth. You will be a key contributing member to ensure effective management of cybersecurity risks and to monitor compliance against published cyber policies and standards for our group of companies.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in one of our Vancouver, Toronto, or Montreal downtown offices.

Your contribution:

  • Act as a Cybersecurity Advocate to provide guidance and advisory to our stakeholders in order to promote and encourage to follow company’s cyber policies and standards, and industry framework and best practices.
  • Participate in our cybersecurity risk assessment process to identify and document cybersecurity related risks
  • Provide mitigation plans to identified risks and monitor those risks to determine cybersecurity controls effectiveness and compliance
  • Evaluate frameworks and external regulatory requirements (e.g. ITIL, COBIT, National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST], PCIDSS, etc.), as well as internal standards (e.g. code of conduct and usage) to define the requirements and necessary controls to mitigate security risks.
  • Assist to obtain and report on key risk indicators for our group of companies
  • Assist with third party risk management activities as needed

You would like to :

  • Advise and make recommendations to the people responsible for programs, software and information systems security.
  • Take part in developing, implementing and carrying out security risk and compliance management strategies.
  • Ensure the quality of IT products and services according to applicable standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Information Technology along with 3+ years of work experience in a Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) role.
  • Strong knowledge of information security management principles and practices. Preference will be given to those who have a strong background in Cloud related technologies.
  • Strong ethical principles and understanding of business and information security ethics.
  • Good knowledge of common security vulnerabilities of web and cloud applications and operating techniques from sources such as SANS, OWASP Top 10 and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA).
  • One of these certifications would be required:
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, GSEC, GISP
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and French preferred).
  • Experience with the implementation and knowledge of GRC platforms will be considered an asset: e.g. ServiceNow, RSA Archer etc.
