The Containerboard Packaging Group, a division of Cascades, is the largest containerboard producer in Canada, and is also a top converter of corrugated products in the country. The Group manufactures a wide range of products made from recycled fibres for its North American customers in the food, beverage and consumer products sectors, among many others. The Division, which employs close to 3,400 people, owns six containerboard mills and nineteen corrugated products plants in Canada and the United States.

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Production Manager, Shift Leader’s will have the following responsibilities:

  • Personally commit and provide strong leadership in health and safety and ensure world class results in safety, quality, waste, OEE, continuous improvement and 5S;
  • Motivate and engage employees, provide coaching and optimize production performance;
  • Help develop and implement operational strategy and effectively optimize resources to maximize achievement of targets;
  • Support employee development and ensure necessary training is received;
  • Coordinate the daily planning of production and manage changes to lineups;
  • Ensure compliance with standardized manufacturing practices and procedures;
  • Maximize synergy and foster collaboration among departments and business units;
  • Serve as resource person within the group to fulfill various requests.
