Position Summary
Royal Inland Hospital is hiring registered Social Workers to work in a casual capacity to help cover the medical units within the hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will have mental health knowledge and experience in hospital social work but all candidates will be considered. The acute care social worker provides comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for patients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides psychosocial support, adjustment counselling, system navigation, advocacy, education and linkage to relevant resources while facilitating client self-management. The Social Worker is responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the patient.

This position is casual and shifts are scheduled between 07:00 to 18:13, 08:00 to 16:00, and 08:00 to 16:22 on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
Current valid BC driver’s license.
