HyLife Major Projects Division is responsible for project development, design and construction, acting as its own General Contractor. HyLife is currently in the midst of an aggressive build-up of capital assets and structures. Our growing company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Construction Project Manager, reporting to the Director of Major Projects. This opportunity is located in the community of Neepawa.

Your days will include:

  • Manage the design process for both conceptual and detailed design
  • Set project goals and communicate to the project team
  • Manage schedule on an ongoing basis to ensure project is completed within the set timeframe
  • Order materials, issue subtrade contracts, and hire any services necessary to start and complete the project
  • Assist Site Superintendent in ensuring all required materials and equipment are delivered to eliminate wait times and down time
  • Manage existing relationships and source potential new sub-trades and vendors
  • Meet with sub-trades and construction team leads to review the scope of work
  • Develop and manage project accounting budgets
  • Creating, issuing, and tracking Requests for Pricing (RFP) packages
  • Monitor and approve project spending
  • Present detailed financial forecasts reporting issues or short falls within the project
  • Report all safety concerns and incidents immediately

To succeed in this role, you possess:

  • Diploma in Project/Construction Management, Architectural Sciences or a related field of study considered an asset
  • 3 years of related experience with construction project management
  • Experience of the construction industry, construction methods, and building codes
  • Experience working in industrial, processing, or agricultural settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Projects
  • Proficient with reading and understanding construction documents
  • Ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a continuous improvement environment
