HyLife Major Projects Division is responsible for project development, design and construction, acting as its own General Contractor. HyLife is currently in the midst of an aggressive build-up of capital assets and structures. Our growing company is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in the role of Construction Site Superintendent for the South/South-Eastern area of Manitoba. This position reports directly to the Director of Major Projects.
Your days will include:
- Ensuring construction safety practices and procedures are followed by all those on site
- Coordinate with HyLife’s Health and Safety team to ensure standards are met
- Collaborate with the Construction Planning Manager on planning, developing, and executing project schedule
- Lead, inspect, and direct all construction activities
- Lead construction labours and sub-trades on project requirements
- Provide guidance with your expertise on carpentry and other construction activities
- Maintain good construction standards and quality control
- Control and monitor labour, materials, and equipment
- Identify potential cost savings and streamline field practices
- Maintain documentation and reports
To succeed in this role, you possess:
- 5 years of related experience with site supervision
- Demonstrate a “Safety-First” focus attitude
- Experience working in industrial, processing or agricultural settings would be an asset, but not required
- Knowledge of Manitoba construction safety laws and regulations
- Understanding of equipment resources and efficiency
- Proficient with reading and understanding construction documents and blueprints
- Ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced environment
