Reporting to SVP Finance, the Sr. Director Finance, Acute and Payer will also have a dotted line reporting relationship to EVP, Acute and Payer, the fast-growing segment within the broader PointClickCare enterprise. This role serves as a dedicated senior finance support role to the Acute and Payer division and acts as a bridge to core finance functions that support all business units.
There are three distinct areas of focus in this role related to the Acute and Payer division:
1) Strategic partnering with the division executive leadership team for a high growth SaaS entity
2) Operational finance leadership to support the growth strategy
3) Transformation support for core finance leadership related to integration and optimization of systems, process and organizational structure
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting Duties in Support of Acute and Payer:
· Offer financial and analytical leadership to executives of the Acute and Payer division related to execution of strategy in setting budgets, financial metrics, OKRs and KPIs
· Analyze financial results prepared by core finance FP&A, utilizing output for business leader reviews and conversations
· Provide strategic oversight for Finance FP&A team on forecasting relating to Acute and Payer division
· Collaborating with divisional senior leaders to manage to budgeted revenue and EBITDA, including addressing reallocation decisions on spend
· Lead business case development with divisional senior leaders where additional unbudgeted spend may be warranted to execute efficiently on strategy
· Partnership with Finance FP&A team to provide operational commentary and narrative preparation for budget to actual performance in revenue and costs for the Acute & Payer division
Operational Finance Duties:
· Finance representative on Pricing Committee for Acute and Payer new product launches or changes to existing Acute and Payer product pricing and packaging
· Responsible for identifying key financial implications for pricing and building plans to address potential process gaps pertaining to pricing changes
· Key point of contact for Acute and Payer sales opportunities, including review of financial terms of complex customer arrangements and support with financial terms
· Approve sales opportunity parameters with material impact to financials and KPI metrics (ex. LTV/CAC); liaise with SVP Finance and CFO in instances where senior level approval is required
· For key enterprise sales pitches, provide sales enablement support to Acute and Payer Sales organization in conveying financial ROI to potential customers
· Partner with Sales, HR, and Finance in sales commission development and operationalization
· Provide approval for credits offered to existing customers; actively participate within the resolution of customer issues relating to billing and outstanding receivables
· Own backlog conversion steps and identify and execute on projects to impact to revenue cycle and financial forecasts; partner with relevant teams (Sales, Delivery, Customer Success and Finance Controllership) to ensure accurate invoicing and customer communication
· Work alongside senior leadership to summarize, measure, and report out on performance of business using KPIs, OKRs, and other key financial and operating performance metrics.
Transformation Leadership Duties in Support of Core Finance Maturity Goals:
· Key divisional point of contact and subject matter expert for transformations required over the next 12-18 months in core finance to build out processes, systems and teams to support Acute and Payer with maturity in functions:
· FP&A
· Controllership
· Finance transformation
· Accounting policies
· Support Acute and Payer initiatives requiring incremental Finance involvement, such as revisions to commissions structure, review of new agreements, and establishing processes for new product launches
· Lead cross-functional projects for transformation in the build out of core finance support for Acute and Payer
Required Experience:
· Prior experience in finance leadership supporting a fast growth technology organization; SaaS background is required
· Prior experience serving CEOs or CFOs while working with executive leadership directly
· Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, math, engineering or other related analytical field required
· Solid communication skills and ability to synthesize complex inputs into actionable insights
· Advanced MS Excel and PPT presentation skills
· A builder’s mentality
· Ability to streamline and problem solve through periods of ambiguity
· Experience working within fast moving organizations undergoing transformation
· Experience leading others (directly or via influence) through periods of process change
· In depth understanding of different financial and management reporting principles
· Knowledge of financial accounting practices pertaining to data flows from GL to FP&A tools
· Outcome-focused, with the proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders under challenging deadlines
The ideal candidate will be someone who is very comfortable with in a high-pace, high performance environment, does not shy away from meeting and expecting others to meet the highest of performance expectations, is highly adept in their ability to think strategically, pays keen attention to detail with a strong memory and command of nuance, is able to synthesize patterns and trends among large amounts of otherwise disparate and seemingly ambiguous data points, has strong commercial instincts and proactively works to identify ways to both grow and streamline the business as it does so. Sharp elbows are not tolerated; this person must be highly collaborative and be a strong leader. An ideal profile would be someone who aspires to become a strategic CFO someday and is excited to learn from and work alongside senior leadership of PointClickCare along that journey.
