The Opportunity

The Senior Analyst, Finance (Sr. FA) assists in coordinating the financial and plant performance reporting and analysis activities in the Paquin operations. This position works closely with operations and needs to have strong communication and technical skills to accurately reflect the results, ensure internal controls are in place and monitored, and provide expertise and support.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

  • Compile, report and provide explanations for variances/vitals weekly
  • Investigate variances, determine root causes, and recommend actions to minimize
  • Provide overhead management support to Budget Manager and Finance Manager
  • Analysis on all aspect of the P&L. Understand cost driving activities and provide analytics to assist management. Put controls in place to minimize variances and meet with stakeholders to review monthly results
  • Perform the annual overhead budgeting process, which would include standard and labor recommendations
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial statements for facilities operations, and provide financial support on a regular basis
  • Investigate operations overhead variances, understand root causes, and recommend actions to reduce overhead
  • Compile and analyze all key tasks of the period end close process
  • Review all balance sheet accounts relating to Paquin/Vantage Manufacturing and ensure controls are in place, and items are accounted for.
  • Completion of all Capital audits of profit improvement projects and present findings to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Finance Manager on special projects as assigned.
  • Design, test, implement and maintain procedures
  • Provide leadership in formulating reports (both recurring and ad-hoc) which highlight opportunities and our progress in minimizing costs.
  • Provide detailed yield/manufacturing analytics to management for decision making purposes
  • Critical weekly and monthly deadlines are met and provide accurate and timely reporting
  • Overhead management support provided to Budget Manager
  • Support Plant Continuous Improvement projects and achievement of plant targets

What you will bring:

  • Business Degree or Diploma
  • Accounting designated or working towards designation
  • 2-3 years Manufacturing Accounting experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and MS Access
  • Exposure to SAP environment an asset
  • Self motivated with ability to work autonomously
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • The ability to work cross-functionally
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
