Role Overview

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will contribute to BGRS’ success by playing a supportive role in providing technical, analytical and partnership support that drives business results. They are a trusted adviser to commercial, operational and management leaders by adding value that will assist in decision making. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be adaptable to a working in a rapidly changing environment and is comfortable proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change. Furthermore, the Sr. Financial Analyst will play a key role in financial modelling, financial analysis, variance analysis, sales trending, month end close, annual planning/forecasting as well as ad hoc projects for BGRS businesses. This role will maintain cross functional relationships with Client Development and Client Services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner Client Services VPs regarding client profitability, implement improved reporting and dedicate analysis & time to VP to ensure maximum client profitability. Collaborate to understand the financial dynamics of each client in the Client Services leader’s portfolio. Be able to articulate challenges and opportunities and the actions being taken to increase revenue and drive efficiencies. Track and report progress on initiatives and financial targets.
• Support pricing proposals, new product and service models, and operational process changes through business case financial modeling.
• Assist in the development of high quality, accurate and timely annual budget and monthly forecasts, working collaboratively with the multi-functional team. Challenge key assumptions based on actual trends, knowledge of the business model, and the need to continuously improve overall profitability.
• Produce and analyze the monthly variance of actual vs budget/forecast, including root cause analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and deliver planned targets. Update the outlook for the fiscal year based on input from the broader team. Highlight the impact to the long-term strategic plan and recommend risk management options as needed.
• Create, improve, implement and maintain financial models and reports. Work across the team to effectively and efficiently produce required monthly management reports, and metric reports for the business. Ensure the FPA team is using the best work processes and leveraging technology to work on common deliverables together.
• Support broader finance initiatives. These initiatives would require sound business acumen, and the ability to influence and work collaboratively with multiple individuals. These would be strategically significant projects, designed to achieve specific goals in the company.
• Additional ad hoc analysis as required.

What You Bring to BGRS

• University degree, with a business, finance or accounting focus
• 5-7 years of work experience in a similar role
• Ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment with tight deadlines
• Innovative big picture thinking with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and in a team environment
• Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills
• Advanced Excel skills. Working experience with VBA/macros is desirable
• Excellent communication skills, dedication to business partnering, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data, analyze information, and an ability to write formal recommendations and proposals
• Superior excel skills as demonstrated by the use of this tool to create multi-parameter based modeling, pivot tables, and automated updates when linked to external data sources.
• Knowledge of RFP process, HFM or other ERP would be an asset. An ability to use a variety of technology tools to access information is required.
