Job title: Sr. Manager, North America Finance

Job description: Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of North American Finance, you will be responsible for all finance matters related to the Commercial performance of the business. Your responsibilities include partnering with wholesale and DTC commercial teams in preparation of the gross margin and associated SG&A spend for the annual budget and monthly forecasts. You will be instrumental in period end close by assisting accounting with accruals and through meaningful variance analysis and performance reporting. The Sr. Manager, North American finance leads a team of 2 direct reports to track, report and analyze various KPI’s for the DTC business units and provides guidance and financial oversight for all commercial related projects, spend and capital investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops/Uses existing model to budget Profit & Loss (P&L) and Capital items, with emphasis on commercial performance
  • Works directly with Senior business leaders to develop a participative annual budget for all North American entities and departments for wholesale and DTC business units
  • Works with business units to develop full P&L and CapEx monthly forecasts
  • Prepare, from multiple sources, a monthly management report that informs management of activity within the business
  • New Business Development Modeling and Business Case Documentation
  • Develop a KPI dashboard; investigate results, and recommend actions to management to improve operational performance
  • Works closely with the finance team members to assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports to ensure accuracy in financial performance reporting and in preparation of channel P&L’s
  • Prepares ad hoc analysis as required
  • Lead, manage, mentor and coach two direct reports with an emphasis on employee development and deadline management

Experience, Education and Designations:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a financial planning & analysis, role, with 2-3 years of people management experience
  • Holds one or more professional designation i.e. CA, CMA, MBA
  • Experience in business case modeling
  • Prior experience in retail accounting in an apparel environment a definite asset
  • Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP for Private Enterprise and IFRS
  • Mastery of excel at an advanced level
  • Experienced with multi-currency and consolidations
