The Opportunity

The Senior Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production on the afternoon shift and supervises all afternoon shift Production Supervisors to ensure all aspects of the operation for their assigned area(s) are met, including production, food safety, health and safety and upholding Company policy and procedures. This role is the single point of contact when Production Manager is not on site.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, manufacturing and government regulations.

Oversee and direct activities of production operations, along with team of Supervisors (direct reports).

Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.

Able to multi-task with ease and proficiency and be strong at time management.

Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve processing problems.

Review production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments.

Proficient in oral and written communications.

Prepare and maintain production reports.

Monitor product standards to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.

Continuously improve the manufacturing process by identifying opportunities.

Lead work group meetings, provide coaching, training and feedback to work groups

Work with teams to administer the collective agreement and represent the company on any third step grievances/labour management. What we have to offer you:

What you will bring:

Post-secondary education or equivalent industry experience.

Proven initiative and leadership skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Prove experience and commitment to good manufacturing practices.

Must be able to exercise timely, good judgement in day-to-day business decisions.

Knowledge of HACCP and Provincial Safety Regulations would be an asset.

Ability to function in a fast-paced production environment.

May be required to cover alternate shifts as needed. * .
