Our Southern Ontario Critical Infrastructure team has an emerging need for a Traffic Management Lead to work with both our Highways and Bridges engineering teams. In this role you will be responsible for traffic management and engineering on large programs ($200MM+). Leadership experience is expected, as we have both a portfolio of existing projects and the desire to grow this practice through a robust pipeline of opportunities. As such, we’ll need the individual in this role to support proposal efforts on future pursuits as well as manage engineering teams in traffic designs and modeling for construction.
As a Traffic discipline lead for construction staging (maintenance-of-traffic) and traffic plans, you will support both public-private partnership and design build projects. You will be expected to manage design teams responsible for all aspects of traffic engineering, including signs, striping, major guide signs, traffic signals, maintenance-of-traffic / staging plans, and traffic engineering analyses.
Other responsibilities include:
Developing the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, and monitoring progress to meet schedule and budget requirements.
Reviewing traffic designs and assessing traffic models for construction staging, to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and that quality is acceptable.
Coordinate the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project, as well as the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
Assist the Project Manager / Design Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and implementing the traffic management and construction staging aspects of projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and registered Professional Engineer with PEO
15+ years of Traffic Management and Engineering experience
Planning, design and delivery of large transportation projects ($100MM+).
Experienced in the identification, pursuit and capture of engineering opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the local Southern Ontario market, clients and transportation agencies.
Strong record of managing staff.
Track record of growing practice area and capturing market share.
Conversant with micro- and macrosimulation tools and traffic analysis platforms, including Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Synchro, SimTraffic, Vissim, Aimsun, and Emme
