RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work within the project team environment from preliminary stages of the design through to completion
• Ensure construction plans and specifications meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations. Familiarity with Ontario Building Code is an asset.
• Structural design and evaluation of building components, including wood, concrete, steel, and masonry
• Site investigation and evaluation of existing building structures and write field reports.
• Preparation and review of drawings or drafting in AutoCAD
• Coordination and communicate with other engineers, architects, contractors, designers and homeowners
• Review and seal their own and junior engineer’s design work as applicable

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Structural/Civil Engineering
• Valid P.Eng designation
• 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering within Canada
• Experience with the Ontario Building Code and engineering design codes
• Effective in team leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience AutoCAD suite
• Valid Driver’s license and ability to travel
