Most of the things you’ll work on:

  • The primary duty of the Structural Engineering Drafter/Designer is to, under minimal supervision, develop complex engineering drawings, and be able to prepare designs and estimates from general instruction and/or preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
  • In addition, the you may recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification, and prepare working drawings from conceptual layouts to detailed finished products.
  • Coordinate BIM/CADD projects with other discipline personnel, and prepare/assemble project deliverables, as well as, develop basic to mid-level designs/layouts, and prepare basic design calculations.
  • This position requires effective time-management and the ability to work well within a team of BIM/CADD technicians and potentially providing technical guidance to less experienced design staff.

Qualifications

You’ll Need To Have:

  • Minimum Civil Engineering Technology diploma
  • At least 4 years of experience in structural engineering projects within private land development, government, institutional, infrastructure required; LRT/Rail or Water Retainment Structures experience preferred.
  • Current OACETT membership an asset.
  • Must be knowledgeable in basic construction practices for civil/structural fieldwork and have the ability to generate drawings for engineers and make suggestions for further development.
  • Must be proficient in both Revit, AutoCAD.
  • Must have BIM knowledge
  • Microstation experience is desired.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills are a must.
  • Must have effective written, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills to be able to work well in teams. Candidates with local experience preferred.
  • Should be experienced with Microsoft Office programs.

We are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19, but when we do return to the office we’re located on the 3rd floor of 8133 Warden Avenue, Markham ON.
