Job description: ENWIN Utilities Ltd., is currently accepting applications for the position of:
Supervisor Hydro Distribution/SAM (System Automation and Maintenance)
Reporting to the Manager System Control & SAM, the successful applicant will be the primary management resource directly responsible for the administration of staff, material, equipment, and contractor resources utilized in the inspection, maintenance, and construction of all ENWIN Stations and System Automation. The incumbent will devise and administer inspection and preventative maintenance programs, oversee reactive repairs to malfunctioning equipment including SCADA and Distribution Automation equipment, maintenance of five 115kv Transformer Stations, Pole Top Reclosers and the correct operation of all the computerized, electronic, communication equipment. The Supervisor, Hydro Distribution/SAM will be a key consultative resource for project design and will represent a major element of the ENWIN safety program through job planning, crew briefings and the conduction of crew visits.
The successful applicant must have the following skills and competencies:
- Electrical/Electronic Technologist Diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyperson Protection and Control Technologist or Station Electrician or an Industrial Electrician with SCADA and high voltage component maintenance experience is required.
- 5 years related experience in areas of Protection and Control, SCADA networks or industrial electrical work is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity.
- Ability to work on varying shifts, respond to emergency calls after hours and work in all types of weather.
- Successful completion of management development courses and/or demonstrated equivalent management or business experience will be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability in circumstances requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills, tact, diplomacy, creativity, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to make timely and effective decisions.
- In depth knowledge of safety equipment, procedures and rules and a proven commitment to developing and promoting safe work practices.
- Ability to assess hazards related to work assigned to crews and ensure appropriate barriers and measures are taken to protect staff from them.
- Ability to resolve problems, assess needs and delegate work in a manner that motivates others and develops their skills.
- Demonstrated project planning skills, ability to multi-task and oversee several projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings including construction standards and system maps.
- Demonstrated awareness of current business issues, trends, and priorities.
- Skill and aptitude with personal computers and business software packages.
- Minimum valid class DZ (AZ an asset) Driver’s License.
Salary Range for Qualified Candidates: $90,645 – $105,753
