Reports To: Director, Client and Advisor Care
Department: Individual Producer Administration
Term: Full-Time Permanent

Work Arrangements: We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately September 2023), coming into the office 25% on designated days.

The Opportunity: This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with management, or supervisory experience, who loves mentoring and motivating teams in a metrics environment. Bonus points for having individual insurance experience, but we are willing to teach our industry knowledge to a candidate who meets our other pre-requisites for this role!

In this role, you will be a critical member of our Individual Operations team and will be leading a team of professionals who handle various tasks related to onboarding new producers and handling the administration of their commissions. You will be instrumental in developing and monitoring metrics and coaching the team to achieve efficiency, while keeping a strong focus on providing excellence in customer service experience to internal partners, MGAs and advisors.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and manage the implementation of our new service strategy
  • Daily operational management of all Producer Administration functions
  • Develop team focused on providing superior service, quality production output and maximizing their capacity through implementation of team metrics to monitor performance, capacity, and efficiency/effectiveness
  • Monitor and report on all service standards, and use these metrics to improve on areas that do not meet or exceed the team’s set service standards
  • Maximize efficiency of staff by recruiting and developing a highly cohesive and motivated team, evaluate individual performance, and address performance concerns
  • Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and training to promote professional growth
  • Ensure quality and timely service to our customers (Advisors, MGAs, National Accounts, Regional Staff, Internal departments) with a target of meeting or exceeding service standards
  • Management of projects both IT and business projects
  • Continually improve processes and introduce efficiencies
  • Handle escalated issues with National Account, MGA’s, Advisors, and regional sales staff to mitigate any negative impact
  • Production work to help with high volumes and escalations

What you will bring:

  • Previous experience leading and/or directly managing teams is preferred
  • Proven ability to motivate staff and provide support for continuous improvement
  • Ability to impart knowledge to others and work in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service focus experience and drive to motivate teams to think of service first
  • Drive to improve processes
  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Sound understanding of advisor contracting and commissions
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
  • Strong skills in MS Word, Excel and Access
  • Post secondary education is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of key systems (OnBase, FASAT, Kentico, APEXA) as asset
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines, tasks and project effectively
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, time-management, problem solving, negotiation and decision making skills
