Job description: Job Summary Are you passionate about implementing strategies, programs and processes to develop leadership, employees and organizational capabilities? The Talent Management Strategic Lead will enable Avantor to execute its strategy and achieve its mission and strategic goals.

Primary areas of focus include leadership development, employee development, leadership assessment, professional skill development, and impact analysis.

The Talent Management Strategic Lead will focus on:

  • Leads program manager(s) to support talent management solutions creation and deployment, while engaging with HRLT to align on priorities, needs, changes and results of strategic talent plan.
  • Stays current on trends in the market, leading edge talent approaches, and continuously scours the external landscape for innovative approaches that support integrated business and talent strategies.

Role is remote, and may sit within, or outside of United States.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Reports into the VP, Global Talent Development.
  • Creates annual and longer-term talent strategic plan enabling Avantor to evolve talent practices enabling our talent and our company to succeed now and in the future (Performance, Succession, Calibration, Assessments, etc.).
  • Leads program manager(s) to support talent management solutions creation and deployment, while engaging with HRLT to align on priorities, needs, changes and results of strategic talent plan.
  • Leverage talent data and insights to build strategic plans, inform reasons for change and actions.
  • Stays current on trends in the market, leading edge talent approaches, and continuously scours the external landscape for innovative approaches that support integrated business and talent strategies.
  • Builds a high touch ‘know and grow’ talent approach for our high potential talent pools to ensure career growth and mobility, while supporting talent pipeline health.
  • Partners with our Leadership & Professional Skills Development team to interlock on development activities for our talent.
  • Effectively manages vendor relations, pricing negotiation, budget management and cost forecasting as needed for strategic plans.
  • Ensures alignment with compensation, operations and systems team that integrate into strategic talent solutions.
  • Collaborates with related teams to create and deploy change and communications approaches that articulate the value of our talent solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources function, preferably within program management or in a strategic function
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Human Resources Business Partner experience preferred
  • Creation and/or deployment of talent solutions (Performance, Succession, Calibration, Assessments, etc.)
  • Worked with business and HR leaders to build credibility, establishing yourself as a trusted partner and advisor, and having a bias for action and execution

  • Relationship builder comfortable with leaders at all levels, with an ability to influence individuals and teams – while also being willing to pivot when needed.
  • Program management approach to organize work, resources and meet timelines.
  • Experience in leading and managing resources in support of complex projects
  • Solved problems thoughtfully and effectively with strong judgement and a creative edge
  • Ability to leverage data to analyze opportunities and impact
  • Strategic thinker and designer that prides her/himself on implementing innovative, engaging, and impactful learning experiences.
  • Leverages data and program insights to create compelling messaging that illustrates impact, behavior shifts and employee development to stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with leaders at all levels, with an ability to influence individuals and teams – while also being willing to pivot when needed.
  • Program management approach to organize work, resources and meet timelines.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

  • This position will be remote based
  • Work assignments are diversified.
  • Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems.
  • New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
  • Overnight business travel may be required.
