Responsibilities
Reporting to the Registered Nurse and working in support role to the Registered Nurse, Recreation Therapist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Occupational Therapists and Psychologist. The Therapeutic Assistant assists in the provision of health, health promotion and therapeutic services to patients on ANSU with a dual diagnosis of Developmental Disability and Mental Illness. The Therapeutic Assistant will work cooperatively and collaboratively with the inter-disciplinary team in carrying out the individual’s care plan and communicating patient specific information that will enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team.
Qualifications
- Grade XII plus a two year certificate/diploma from a Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation Program or Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation
- Current CPR certification is required
- Current St. John Ambulance First Aid course preferred
- Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is an asset
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset

Salary Information
$20.5143 – $22.3732 Hourly
