Job title: Warehouse Logistics Assistant

Job description: The Warehouse Logistics Assistant will be responsible for the shipping and receiving of warehouse assets and inventory, ensuring project needs are available to the field crews in a timely manner. He/she is responsible for assisting with the activities of the warehouse including coordination of all equipment, tools, vehicles and job materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Shipping/Receiving activities.
  • Ensure all items received are cross referenced to their packing slip and confirmation is correctly received in the Spark Ops system.
  • All items received should be directed to the appropriate personnel or notification given via email, telephone or any other form of communication deemed appropriate.
  • Items leaving the building are sent with appropriate documentation, to the correct address, with the correct contact name on the receiving end, and send via an appropriate method of transportation.
  • Close communication with both Accounts Payable, Project Management and Procurement are required to ensure items shipped and received are correct and follow process.
  • Ensure all shipped/received transactions are tracked and documented following proper procedures.
  • Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with 3rd party vendors/Internal Resources

Responsible for managing Utilities inventory and order requests:

  • Maintain and organize material and part inventory.
  • Assist with quarterly/monthly inventory counts.
  • Fill project material order requests.
  • Restock and record utility job material when returned from jobs.
  • Assist in managing job trailer inventory

Responsible for Warehouse Maintenance:

  • Perform day to day maintenance duties for upkeep of the warehouse and building

Job Requirements & Experience:

  • High-school diploma required.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (a copy of a valid work permit) may be required.
  • Valid Class 5 license with clean abstract.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test.
  • Post-secondary education considered an asset.
  • At least two years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Physically fit to perform work required.
  • Able to work with a variety of personality types.
  • Aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Thrive in a flexible, fast paced and dynamic organization.
  • Positive attitude and team work spirit.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and self-initiative.
  • Eager to help and support others in their work.
  • Ability to dive medium duty trucks and trailers is a asset
