Job description: Based in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Festival is one of the world’s foremost repertory theatre companies. It operates year round, presenting a season of about a dozen plays each year between the months of April and November, a rich stream of digital content and hundreds of Forum events, designed to deepen understanding of the plays. For every person a theatregoer sees on our stages, we have seven people working behind the scenes, some of the world’s most dedicated and experienced arts workers. Website Marketing Manager The Stratford Festival’s marketing strategy aims to increase sales, enhance the experience of existing audiences and deepen engagement, broaden reach to new audiences and increase awareness of the Festival and its activities across all stakeholder groups. The Website Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role for ensure the Festival’s website is always up to date and being used tactically to drive sales and engagement goals.
This is a stimulating and varied role for a creative, motivated and digitally savvy individual to contribute to the transformation and continued growth of the Stratford Festival.

This position reports to the Associate Director, Brand or designate and is part of the Marketing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the website content with an emphasis on user experience and revenue optimization
  • Prepare and implement a plan to achieve goals for online commerce and online engagement
  • Prepare the editorial calendar for the website in collaboration with departments across the organization
  • Based on framework established by the IT and Application Development team, monitor and update the website to focus on organizational priorities and on SEO best practices
  • Produce, write, proofread and edit website copy so that it aligns with engagement, ticket sales and fundraising goals
  • Coordinate with members of the marketing team on designing online content
  • Oversee the work of the Social Media Coordinator supporting the development and execution of the social media plan
  • Monitor and report regularly on website and online metrics. Make strategic use of metrics in adapting the site.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the marketing plans for the Stratford On Film project

Requirements: Qualifications:

  • University Degree or equivalent education and experience in a field related to Marketing Communications and/or Digital Marketing
  • Exceptional copy writing and editing skills
  • Minimum five years’ experience creating website content and managing online user interface
  • Minimum five years’ experience working on an e-commerce site
  • Experience in search engine optimization and using SEO tools
  • Proven ability to collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preference will be given to candidates with marketing experience in the cultural, tourism and/or entertainment industry.

Additional Info: This full time contract position is located in Stratford, Ontario and will begin January 2022. This position requires the candidate to work both onsite and remotely when required.

Job Type: Full time contract (January 2022-December 2022)
Annual Salary: $55,000-60,000
